[MUSIC PLAYING] ANGELA VALATIS: Georgetown has allowed me to learn things that I never dreamed of learning. I'm currently a senior project manager at a private company in Arlington, Virginia. It's dealing with airlines and financial settlement for the airline industry. Prior to that, I was working as a government contractor for a number of years. And after completing my degree with Georgetown University, I became a senior project manager at Airlines Reporting Corporation.
Well, through a network of people that I met at Georgetown, I was able to learn about the company and then join. Since joining this company, I also recruited an another alumni to the same company, and now we work together. The faculty is very relevant. I took a class with a professor who works in cybersecurity, and he was able to tell us some of the litigation that he works with in cybersecurity, which is obviously very relevant today.
I would absolutely recommend Georgetown, the technology program. I think the professors are very relevant and very key to the program, as well as the students, the collaboration, and teamwork. You can guarantee that when you're on a project team with other students at Georgetown, they will bring something different to the table.
One particular memorable class was when I was able to introduce the Vice President of Global Public Policy at Facebook, Marne Levine. I spent a few minutes prior to introducing her, talking with her, and I was able to connect with her and learn that you see someone very similar to me, working full-time, raising a family. And that was a really great class, a really great opportunity to meet someone that is such a high profile figure and someone that I look up to. I think the online opportunity is wonderful. It allowed me to travel for work, as well as participate in the class, which is something that is very relevant today.
